Privacy Policy

beside Co. ("we") publishes this Privacy Policy for the iOS app "baton." (the "App"). In short — we collect nothing. This policy is written to satisfy the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect or process any personal data through the App. Because we process no personal data, there are no processing purposes, legal bases, categories of data, sources, recipients, or retention periods for us to disclose.

2. Data Stored on Your Device and Optional Private iCloud

Your session records and baton texts stay on your device by default, including the app group container group.com.besideco.baton used for widgets. Only when a Full Track user explicitly enables iCloud sync are they stored in the private CloudKit database linked to that Apple ID (iCloud.com.besideco.baton) and synchronized between the user's iPhone and Mac. Sync is off by default. Nothing is sent to our servers, and we cannot access the content. You can export or delete data in Settings and manage private iCloud data through Apple's iCloud controls.

3. Third Parties & Sharing

In-app purchases ("Full Track") and user-enabled private iCloud sync are processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). We do not receive the payer's identity or the content stored in private iCloud. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. Local notifications are processed entirely on-device.

4. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing under the GDPR/UK GDPR, and to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing under the CCPA/CPRA. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or transfer. You control your on-device and private iCloud data through the App and Apple's iCloud controls. The App performs no automated decision-making or profiling.

5. International Transfers & Retention

We retain nothing on company servers. If you enable private iCloud sync, Apple stores and transfers that data according to its terms and privacy policy; we cannot access it.

6. Children's Privacy

Since we collect no personal information at all, we collect none from children either.

7. Supervisory Authority

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.

8. Changes to This Policy

This revision is posted on 31 August 2026 and takes effect on 7 September 2026. We will announce future material changes on the website and in app update notes at least 7 days before they take effect.
