Privacy Policy

App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected

beside Co. ("we") publishes this Privacy Policy for the iOS app "baton." (the "App"). In short — we collect nothing. This policy is written to satisfy the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect or process any personal data through the App. Because we process no personal data, there are no processing purposes, legal bases, categories of data, sources, recipients, or retention periods for us to disclose.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The session records and baton texts you create are stored only on your device (and in the app group container group.com.besideco.baton used to display widgets). This data is never transmitted to us, and we cannot access it. You can export or delete all data at any time in Settings, and deleting the App deletes the data with it.

3. Third Parties & Sharing

In-app purchases ("Full Track") are processed by Apple as the seller of record. Any information Apple processes in this step (such as payment details) is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy), and we do not receive the payer's identity. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we have none to sell or share. Local notifications (goal time reached) are processed entirely on-device and are never sent anywhere.

4. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data (GDPR/UK GDPR), and the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (CCPA/CPRA). Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or transfer — and control over the data on your device rests entirely with you. The App performs no automated decision-making or profiling.

5. International Transfers & Retention

Nothing leaves your device, so there are no international data transfers and we retain nothing.

6. Children's Privacy

Since we collect no personal information at all, we collect none from children either.

7. Supervisory Authority

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes (for example, a future iCloud backup feature), we will give notice on the website and in the app update notes at least 7 days before it takes effect.
